LA DESCRIPCIÓN:

Describir es explicar, de forma detallada y ordenada, cómo son las personas, los lugares o los objetos. La descripción sirve sobre todo para ambientar la acción y crear una atmósfera que haga más creíbles los hechos que se narran. Muchas veces, las descripciones contribuyen a detener la acción y preparar el escenario de los hechos que siguen.

AQUÍ TIENES VARIOS EJEMPLOS DE DESCRIPCIONES.

Cómo describir un objeto
La descripción de objetos dirigen la atención del lector hacia detalles importantes y dan verosimilitud al relato.
Para describir un objeto se detallan sus rasgos característicos: forma, tamaño, impresión que produce... Y si el objeto tiene diferentes partes, se enumeran y detallan ordenadamente.
En las descripciones de objetos suelen emplearse términos específicos; por ejemplo, en la descripción de un reloj de pared se usan palabras como caja, esfera, manillas, pesas, péndulo...

Primero tengo que poner a qué grupo pertenece.
Las características del animal.
¿Dé qué se alimenta?, ¿cómo se llama?
Desplazamiento,
Reproducción.
Si es doméstico o salvaje.
Donde vive.
Curiosidades.

Cómo se describe un lugar
Al describir un paisaje o un lugar cualquiera, los escritores suelen presentar primero una visión general del lugar. Después van localizando en ese lugar los distintos elementos (los pueblos, los montes, el río...) utilizando palabras que indican situación en el espacio. Procuran transmitir la impresión que produce el lugar: alegría, tristeza, misterio, terror...

In science, the fifth grade is learning about ecosystems.  An ecosystem is made up of all the living and non-living things in a place.  There are many different types of ecosystems around the world.  Can you name some different ecosystems?


This is a video introducing what an ecosystem is.  How do living and non-living things interact in their environment?  What are some biotic components in an ecosystem?  What are some abiotic components in an ecosystem?

Think of your favorite animal.  What abiotic and biotic things does your animal need to survive?  What kind of an ecosystem does your favorite animal live in?  

Below is a diagram of how ecosystems are organized.  Why do you think it is bad if a population becomes extinct?

The Wizard of Oz: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Yesterday, the fifth grade went to the theatre to see The Wizard of Oz.  In class, we are learning one of the songs from the play, Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

PLATERO CUMPLE 100 AÑOS

                      UNA FAMILIA OBSERVA LA NUEVA ESCULTURA DEL MUSEO AL AIRE LIBRE "PLATERO CULTURA", UBICADA EN LA PLAZA DE MOGUER (HUELVA)

Cien años, ese es el tiempo que ha pasado desde que el poeta Juan Ramón Jiménez regaló al mundo una de sus obras más populares, «Platero y yo». Y es que esta historia –que cuenta la vida y muerte de un burro plateado al que su dueño ama con locura- ha conseguido enternecer a una buena parte del mundo. No en vano  es el tercer libro más traducido a diferentes idiomas después de la Biblia y El Quijote.

La historia de este obra maestra de la literatura se inició -según el poeta de Moguer- en 1906, año en que comenzó a dar forma a la que sería uno de sus textos más conocidos en el mundo y más leídos por el público infantil. Sin embargo, y a pesar de que en la actualidad suele estudiarse en todos los colegios de España, «Platero y yo» fue una novela dirigida a los adultos. ¿La razón? Cuenta con varios capítulos en los que es palpable una cierta crítica social.

Los cinco pasajes más tiernos del libro

1-«Platero es pequeño, peludo, suave; tan blando por fuera que se diría todo de algodón, que no lleva huesos. Sólo los espejos de azabache de sus ojos son duros cual dos escarabajos de cristal negro».

2-«Cuando, al mediodía, voy a ver a Platero, un transparente rayo del sol de las doce enciende un gran lunar de oro en la plata blanda de su lomo. Bajo su barriga, por el oscuro suelo, vagamente verde, que todo lo contagia de esmeralda, el techo viejo llueve claras monedas de fuego».

3-«Los niños han ido con Platero al arroyo de los chopos, y ahora lo traen trotando, entre juegos sin razón y risas desproporcionadas, todo cargado de flores amarillas. Allá abajo les ha llovido —aquella nube fugaz que veló el prado verde con sus hilos de oro y plata, en los que tembló, como en una lira de llanto, el arco iris—. Y sobre la empapada lana del asnucho, las campanillas mojadas gotean todavía».

4-«Entre los niños, Platero es de juguete. ¡Con qué paciencia sufre sus locuras! ¡Cómo va despacito, deteniéndose, haciéndose el tonto, para que ellos no se caigan! ¡Cómo nos asusta, iniciando, de pronto, un trote falso!».

5-«Les dije que aquella carrera la había ganado Platero y que era justo premiarlo de algún modo. […] Entonces, acordándome de mí mismo, pensé que Platero tendría el mejor premio en su esfuerzo, como yo en mis versos. Y cogiendo un poco de perejil del cajón de la puerta de la casera, hice una corona, y se la puse en la cabeza, honor fugaz y máximo
